A MAGICAL WEEKEND
The 50th reunion is now history, but oh my, what a weekend. The weather was absolutely perfect the entire weekend - a true "chamber of commerce weekend". The venues all worked out so perfectly. The band Saturday was such fun. The high school tour was very cool. Other activities were well received. We had an amazing turnout. And everyone was so genuinely pleased to see everyone! We can't say thanks enough to Karen Hansen Dade and Linda Glaesel Kazen for sharing their homes for Friday and Sunday's events. They were absolutely the perfect locations. The Fuller House was an amazing location on Saturday. Some fun history and the layout was just perfect for our needs - lots of room to spread out for visits, but good space to feel like we were all together.
The Others were such fun - they played all the old tunes for well over an hour on Saturday night. Thanks again to Bill Papworth, John Kogge, and Larry Galazin from the class of 1968, and our very own Dave Dixon and Ray Schilens.
VERY special thanks to Ray Schilens for also spending MUCH of the reunion doing interviews for some sort of a video presentation that he'll be putting together for us. We'll send you that info as soon as it's available.
Thanks also to Posey Eitzen for preparing an amazing memorial for those students have left us. Thirty-two blue and white votives for each of those students. Very sobering. See the pictures for that.
A million thanks to Janalee Brennan James, Karen Hansen Dade and Linda Glaesel Kazen for being the hometown coordinators for this special event. Thanks to Nancy Burbach Flowers for so capably handling the funds again this year. And thanks to all the other local folks for stepping in to help with set up, clean up, pick up of items, drop off of items, etc. etc. etc. A special shout out to Dennis Barrett for helping with the wine, and to Sue Stewart Popadak, Donna Clark Alexander, Sue Hunsdorf Brondos, and Max Gruber for their extra efforts with set up and clean up. It was a team effort for sure!
Thanks to Sandi Blankner Gorman for her efforts keeping everyone connected and informed. Special thanks as well to Greg Ellis, Terri Mathes Baugus, Carla Hirschfeld Mattmiller, Randy Perry, and Kirk Gorman for helping to "find" some of our lost classmates.
And thanks to Georgia (Karen’s granddaughter) and Erin (Shirley Bogner’s daughter) for being our very capable photographers!
